KidUnity BH students are learning about the importance of having a community center and playground in their city and are formulating ideas and concepts to be considered in the redesign of La Cienega Community Center and Park (scheduled for discussion at our February 11th session). Eventually, the students will be present their findings before the Parks and Recreation Commission and the BH

City Council.

I enjoyed reading about the Community Explorer visit to the Roxbury Community Center and how it brought people together to learn and share experiences, especially the way you highlighted genuine connections and curiosity from everyone there. When I first volunteered at a local event, I joked I might do my management class first so I could stay more organized, but being present and learning on the go taught me even more. Your post really shows how community engagement turns simple visits into meaningful stories.

I really enjoyed reading about the "Community Explorer BH Visits Roxbury Community Center" diving into what makes a place like the Roxbury Community Center meaningful and how they’re brainstorming redesign ideas before presenting to local leaders, showing thoughtful engagement with their city’s needs. I remember when my own service group once toured a community hub and the discussion sparked so many questions I turned to an exam help service to organize my thoughts and reflections afterward. It definitely helped me connect what we saw with my coursework and made the whole experience more insightful and relevant to what the original post highlights.
